Weekend, Weekend, Weekend

Let me introduce to you the head doe of this little flock of goats. Her name is Galaxy. Why that name you might ask. Well, she came to us as an orphan. There she was in the field all by herself and screaming for food. But her mum was nowhere to be found. That how she came to our group of goats. She has the most beautiful speckled fur, all black and white. It’s like she got touched by the Milky Way. Hence the name Galaxy suited her just well.

She has a great life with the other goats. She isn’t the tallest one and maybe not the strongest one either. Shat she lacks in size she makes up in personality. After a few years she manages to become the boss of the other goats. She is the head doe. So her attitude is slightly adjusted to her role as the boss. She starts to become a bit more serious. After all, she is the boss now and the boss needs to be serious.

Let me highlight her week as a boss of other goats.

Monday: Like the rest of us Monday isn’t a great day. We feed them early in the morning. She has to get up early to make sure she gets the best of all the food that is delivered by us. She won’t have it that another goat is poking their nose into the food bowl first. This is the job of the head doe. and that is Galaxy. Monday is always a difficult day.

Tuesday: Like Monday, the food arrives just after 6 in the morning. Again? Galaxy grumbles with her head low and on the lookout that no one else gets first pick of the food. she shoos them away. With actions like that she earned the nickname “Moo”. She is behaving like a cow.

Wednesday: The food arrives a bit later. Galaxy likes that. That means she can sleep in and doesn’t have to be guarding the food bowl all the time. Her mood changes a bit and the nickname doesn’t get used. Good one Galaxy, and she gets a pat on the back. She likes that. With pride she parades around the food bowl.

Thursday: Oh boy. The food arrives again just after 6 in the morning. Or as Galaxy calls it; the middle of the night. The fruit and vegetables get distributed evenly between the various food bowls and Galaxy does her best to protect them all. It’s a loosing game. She runs from food bowl to food bowl. “Go away! My food!” she snarls at the kids. They don’t care. But they keep their distance to her.

Friday: Galaxy isn’t in a good mood. The food arrives extra early. “What time do you think it is?” It’s still dark outside and Galaxy isn’t in the mood to be nice. She has a hard time to guard her food bowls. Friday is generally super-grumpy-day for her. She lets everyone know.

Weekend: We all like the weekend. There is a sleep-in, a late coffee, relaxed breakfast and after 9 the food gets delivered to the goats. We can tell it’s weekend. Galaxy could sleep in as well and greets us with joy and high jumps. She has little star sparkles in her eyes and she is very joyful. It’s like she is shouting from the top of her lungs: “It’s Weekend!” It’s such a joy to watch her. She does the same on both days.

Why can’t every day be a weekend day?
