This is it. For a Motorbike nut like me, it is starting again. I drew this cartoon for all that come out of race hibernation.
I was surprised that not everyone knew that the supers are back already. I went to the Island many times before as a spectator. A few years ago I wanted to see more and volunteered as a flag marshal.
It’s quite an interesting job. But you get to see a lot more of the action and you don’t have to pay to get a front row spot. Mind you, You have to stand a lot in all kind of weather. And Phillip Island is well known for that. We had horizontal rain in the morning and in the afternoon we were cooking in the sun. But you get used to that.
We also get to see the pits and can talk to the riders. So all in all it’s a great weekend.
