Week 52: World Challenge
The World challenge is a good one. Any topic could have been used. I thought I give it a bit of a story. Due to the constant destruction of the nature, the goats have decided to move one and find a better place. Where that is, I don’t know. They might be cack soon. Who knows. At this stage the goats are in space watching the world in tatters. It looks like world war 3 broke out and we are fighting to destroy us all.
It’s hard to see goats in space being successful. With their hooves they have little chance to hang onto things. They are amazing climbers where gravity works, but in space, where you have little gravity, they can’t just hang onto something. Also a goats mentality is; if you can’t eat it, clobber it. That won’t work up there. So, on that ground, it’s a far fetched story. But I like to push the boundaries and have fun with things.
This illustration was done in Photoshop. I sketched it first by hand on a piece of paper and then scanned it in. At a resolution of 300dpi I imported it into Photoshop and created a new layer. that was my inking layer. I have bought some good brushes for Photoshop and it makes my job a lot easier. I’m not saying that the original brushes are rubbish, but it improved my skills with better brushes.
Below the ink i had a number of other colour layers. Typically I work on about 5 to 6 layers. that way I can still oversea things can get complicated quickly with heaps of layers. I’ve had over 50 layers in one picture and that was a bit overwhelming. But I’m about to try out a few new things. I let you know How I go.
