A spider is wrecking a car, resulting in a rollover
How did we get here? A spider is wrecking a car? That can hardly be right. Then again, the big newspapers can get away with that sort of headlines. Why shouldn’t I?
Lets start this story from the top. I draw cartoons for the Mountain View Newspaper and every now and then I come across a cropper like this: “Spider puts branch in car”. Why not? And my cartoon senses are tingling. I put pen to paper and draw. This is how it works. It does, trust me. There aren’t many days I have a blank and can’t come up with a cartoon. If you like, try me. Just drop me a few lines and I see what I can do.
But back to this story. The car was heading towards Dixons Creek when a spider fell into the lap of a female driver. As a result she veered off the road and rolls the car multiple times. She is luck to escape serious injury as a branch penetrates the roof of the car and is embedded in the centre console. That was a close call. You might now say I pick on female drivers. Not so. There are many very talented female drivers out there and likewise a hell of a lot of incredibly stupid male drivers. This has nothing to do with gender. It was just the way it was.
I drew this cartoon for the local newspaper as there is already a bit of a chatter about this story. It seems we are driven by catastrophes and accidents. And of course cat videos. How can I forget those bloody things.
