Valencia MotoGP showdown, Rossi vs Lorenzo

Who will wind the MotoGP crown at Valencia? I guess if you follow the MotoGP circus you probably know the answer by now. I don’t want to spoil your experience and so far I haven’t given away any clues. Let this be a spoiler warning. If you start reading the second paragraph you will know who is now crowned the world champion in MotoGP. So, if you don’t want to know now you better tune out and return after you watched the last race of the 2015 season in Valencia.

Right, for all those who have watched the race, Jorge Lorenzo is now the new champion. Valentino Rossi had a stellar race and I doff my hat to him for not giving up and delivering such a courageous race. At the end it wasn’t to be. He missed out by five points. I know, championships have been decided by a lot less, but regardless who whom you barracking for,  you got to admit it was a fantastic race. It was worth listening just to the commentary. They were falling over each other in the commentary box. For that alone the Valencia round will go down in history.

You wonder what in earth was going on and why did Valentino Rossi had to start from the back of the grid? Have read through the recent posts and you find out. To keep it short, he has a bit of an altercation with Marc Marquez. Race direction put him to the back of the grid for the last race at Valencia. The opinions varied wildly from camp to camp, fan to fan. The good thing is that I don’t take sides. As long as they deliver a good race. Rossi is certainly a fantastic racer, but sometimes he thinks that the world revolves around him. The young kid, Marc, is also world class and doesn’t take sh*t from veteran racers like Rossi, Lorenzo and Pedrosa. He has proven he can win championships. Lorenzo is a bit boring.

At the end I think the fans got robbed. I would have liked to see the great ones fighting it out wheel to wheel. That didn’t happen. It was a stellar race nevertheless, but we can only imagine what it would have been if Rossi were amongst Lorenzo, Marquez and Pedrosa. The Valencia round is done and dusted. The season is over and on Monday they start preparing for the next season. Will it be as good as this one? We can only hope.
