This is my latest goat cartoon. Also it’s the first goat cartoon for you to see on this site.

Confused?

Don’t be. I have quite a bunch of goatee cartoons. Not all on this site yet. So what I might do, I add an old one at the bottom. You know, my earlier goat cartoons. You’ll see the difference. The more you draw, the more you improve your style. Well, I hope so.

For this goatee cartoon I drew our old billy goat “Hoofs”. Hoofs is a very likeable character. We rescued him from the pound. He had shocking hooves and he weighted in at barely 40 kilos. I saw potential in him. So I picked him up. At first the pound wanted to charge me a fee. They were lucky I didn’t report them to RSPCA for animal cruelty.

Hoofs is a proper make goat and sometimes he’s driven by his hormones. He wants to challenge the status in his cage. This is how this cartoon came to be.

Goat 90 Hoofs charge

He didn’t quite bowl me over like in the cartoon, but he gave me a proper whack. The resulting wrestle was something else. I was the winner, but he had the satisfaction that I smelt like him. I tell you what, he can be pong! What? you say that’s not a word? I’m sure it is. Anyway, I smelled bad if that’s better.

It’s all fine for now. We established the ranking order again. He’ll understand for a couple of months and the whole thing begins again.

For my “retro” goat cartoon I have one of my earliest sketches about goats. I was at a OH&S refresher course and bored. So I drew a few concepts about goats. It’s kind of cute.

I hope you like this stuff. I have more to follow in a few days.
