Deep down in the ocean

It is a great honour to tell you my story, a story with deep depth and great glory

I have no intentions to bore you to death, as we dive deep into the oceans depth

It should be clear to you by now, I’m a diver with history and wow

I’ve sailed the oceans far and wide, all in my trusty dry suits hide

In search for the oceans mysteries I built more technical canopies

to keep me alive in the oceans waters. Air lungs are essential for starters

Flippers and goggles followed suit, down into the deep I went for good

But soon I realised it’s not that deep. I wanted more and more, and steep

Domes of steel I built by hand to down into a dark land

A land of water and pressure, nothing to compare and measure

Every time I go down to new lows, a desire in me burns and grows

to see more of the oceans creatures in all the far and wide reaches

I go down in a yellow orb of glass, that strap tightly to my back

I see animals I see fish with eyes like a satellite dish

But deeper I can not go on my own. As this is a far cry from my home

I think and I ponder, will I go deeper I wonder

Of course I will but not alone. This time I bring my son

He’s an engineer of great greatness and thinking he can no less

of ideas beyond my dreams, or so it seems

There is something I just don’t get. My son doesn’t like to get wet

To go swimming with his father he has to go into the water

Sooner or later he will, there is no magic pill.

Not to worry I need as he does his deed

He works on a pod that doesn’t just float

It also dives deep down without the fear of drown

A pod he builds for two to go into the oceans blue

Two seats and glass dome, very tough and then some

You should see it that yellow lemon. We could build more and sell ’em

But that’s not what it’s about, the oceans depth is calling out

Down we go towards the ocean floor. This is great and I want more

Further down than ever before into the darkness we soar

Our lights come on so we can see what secrets the ocean has for thee

We see fish quite small at best. We’re looking hard to see the rest

Then all of a sudden without a fuss we see the biggest ever octopus

She is huge like a ship, I sit up and bit my lip

Be quiet now my son, it’s a mother and her young

No point to avoid detection, we can see our own reflection

in the eye as large as a bus, she sails past with little fuss

Our hearts are beating crazy, from excitement not from lazy

Our appetite for the unknown grows. Where next? Who knows.

The end
